Picture
Rebecca Rouse is PhD candidate in digital media at The Georgia Institute of Technology, where she is a student of Professor Jay David Bolter. Rebecca's research focuses on the dramaturgy of digital media in narrative theater. She has an MA in Communication and Culture from York University and a BA in Theater and German from Brown University. She has a background in theater as a director and playwright, and has studied at La MaMa Experimental Theater Company.

Contemporary culture demands a new theater that reflects the ways of seeing and communicating we have acquired from our reciprocal relationship with technology. Rebecca's mission is to combine traditional performance technologies, such as puppets, masks, miniatures, lighting, and sound, with cutting-edge digital capabilities in sensing and media presentation to develop innovative modes of storytelling for performance, spectatorship, and participation.
